Why Solid Soaps?

Updated: Aug 27

The move towards natural soaps has been driven by a growing awareness of the long-term effects of synthetic chemicals on both our health and the environment. Conventional soaps or detergents can contain ingredients like parabens, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances, which can strip the skin of its natural oils, cause irritation and contribute to environmental pollution.

Why use our bar soaps?
  • No nasties, only the essentials. Liquid and tablet soaps often contain additives and preservatives to maintain its form, texture and shelf-life. With our soap cubes, each batch of liquid soap is made freshly by you

  • Better for you and the environment. Our soaps are 100% biodegradable and originate from plant-based ingredients (specifically coconut and rice bran oil). It also takes significantly less energy to make, pack and transport solid soaps compared to liquids.

  • Plastic-free packaging. Unlike liquids, you're paying for active ingredients, not water or fillers - a win for both you and the planet!

  • No harsh chemicals. No SLS, parabens, edta, triclosan, phosphates, phthalates, petrochemicals or artificial fragrance

  • No leftover residue

  • No petrochemicals

  • No animal by-products and not tested on animals

What Are The Key Ingredients In Our Solid Soaps?

Natural oils

Coconut oil and rice bran oil are the backbone of our solid soaps

Essential oils

Instead of artificial fragrance, we use essential oils to add pleasant scents

Lye (sodium hydroxide)

When lye and oils meet, they undergo a chemical reaction known as saponification, producing both soap and glycerin. This process results in a gentle, effective cleanser that is kinder to the skin and the environment.

Solid soaps represent a return to simple, wholesome ingredients that benefit both the skin and the environment. By choosing natural soaps, you can enjoy gentle, nourishing cleansing without compromising your skin's integrity or the planet's health.
